So, I’m a show images straight from the camera type of girl (which is going to be someone else’s pet peeve!). I know I just shared some sneaks BUT typically this is not how I roll.

I want to make sure my client sees what I see, can envision the direction we are going, is confident I’m capturing amazing images so they can then relax and enjoy the session. It is not a popular opinion but done right, it helps build trust and works for me/my clients.

And while we’re chatting….a few more unpopular opinions 🤣

1. The 2-Week Turnaround Myth Weekends are for shooting, not editing, and if I’m swamped with sessions, edits take longer. Some photographers prioritize speed—I prioritize quality and care.

2. Crooked Horizons It’s such a simple fix and makes a world of difference. No one wants a crooked ocean hanging in their living room.

3. Blurry Photos They can be cool—but for me, they’re a trend. I want your images to be timeless, not something you cringe at in two years.

4. Shoes on the Beach No. Just no. You wouldn’t go barefoot at a gala. Help your clients make better choices for images they’ll cherish!

I’ve wanted to photograph at Sutro Baths for so long—but every time I’ve had clients asking to go, there was always something holding them back: too pregnant, little ones too tiny, or just too cold to brave the weather. But this year, on a very, very cold New Year’s Day, I finally got my wish! 😁

It was spontaneous—no Golden Hour, no perfect setup—but when a client messaged me saying they were in the city and asked if I could meet them for just 30 minutes, how could I resist? 🙌 She’d been eyeing one of my client dresses for months, so this was a no-brainer!

We started at Fort Point (directly under the Golden Gate Bridge). After a quick 10 minutes there, we headed to the Cliff House and walked down to the beach. Now, let me tell you—this walk is easy, but walking UP with a 30lb pack? Not so much. 😅 (Tip: If you’re wearing heels, always bring a second pair of sturdy shoes, and I’ll take care of your heels on my pack!) 👠
Oh, and the dress! 😍 This stunning dress was a custom creation by @reclamationdesigncompany, and I was SO excited to finally debut it in my Client Closet! It was the perfect fit for this shoot—gorgeous, unique, and just made for a beauty like this client. It’s always such a joy to see these one-of-a-kind pieces come to life, and this dress certainly did not disappoint. 💃✨
